Kilimanjaro Live has confirmed that bestselling author, humourist and five-time Grammy Award nominee David Sedaris will return to the UK in July 2026 for a new tour.
An Evening with David Sedaris will visit nine venues, beginning at Brighton’s Theatre Royal on 1 July and finishing at the Beacon in Bristol on 11 July. The tour will also include performances in Birmingham, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester and Poole, with two dates at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 7 and 8 July.
Audiences can look forward to readings from new and unpublished work, as well as a chance to ask questions. Each evening will also include a book signing, which has become a regular part of Sedaris’s live events.
Sedaris is widely known for his personal essays and short stories, many of which have appeared in collections such as Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and Calypso. His most recent book, Happy-Go-Lucky, debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list, while his children’s book Pretty Ugly, illustrated by Ian Falconer, was released in 2024.
Over the course of his career he has published more than a dozen books, written plays with his sister Amy Sedaris, and released several audio recordings. His work has been adapted for film, and he has contributed regularly to publications and broadcast projects in both the United States and the UK, including BBC Radio 4’s Meet David Sedaris.
Sedaris has sold more than 16 million copies of his books worldwide and his work has been translated into 32 languages. He has received numerous awards for humour and literature, and in 2019 was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
