The royal drama ‘Spencer’ directed by Pablo Larraín follows the story of the peoples princess as she makes the formative decision to leave Prince Charles. The flick will hit the big screen nearing the end of 2021- hopefully holding over lovers of the royal family drama until the release of season five of ‘The Crown’
The film however will be released in-front of select audiences at the Venice Film Festival in September and then it will hit theatres November 5th 2021.
Paparrazi photos of Kristen Stewart playing her role as Dianna that surfaced over the past 6 months have reassured people who questioned her being cast for the role. The official poster for Spencer, which Neon and Topic Studios shared on August 25, features an artful portrait of Stewart with Dianna’s signature bob in a white strapless gown. The beauty and dept of the poster is already teasing the intensity and drama that will be packed into the film.
On June 17, 2020, Stewart’s casting for the role of Dianna was announced by Deadline.
“Kristen can be many things, and she can be very mysterious and very fragile and ultimately very strong as well, which is what we need,” Larraín, the directer said to Deadline. “The way she responded to the script and how she is approaching the character, it’s very beautiful to see. I think she’s going to do something stunning and intriguing at the same time… As a filmmaker, when you have someone who can hold such a weight, dramatic and narrative weight just with her eyes, then you have the strong lead who can deliver what we are looking for.”
