Langford’s story about him and his wife trying for a child and eventually succeeding is far more hilarious than you’d ever expect. His storytelling is phenomenal as he lines his tales with wonderfully crude similes.
I knew I was in for a great show when Langford demonstrates his natural humour when the latecomers scuttled in.
His genuinely hilarious casual banter that’s totally off the cuff just highlights what a funny man he is.
His delivery is bold, and his jokes are outrageous as Langford demonstrates his profound comedic prowess. He is so naturally charismatic that many of his setups receive thunderous laughs before he’s even driven his point home. His jokes jump from tale to tale but the best surely comes when he’s discussing his time before fatherhood. Stories about his time in sex clinics are keel over funny, who knew they weren’t the place for small talk?
Langford manages to cram in all the embarrassing events that have happened to him since the beginning of the pandemic, and they are surprisingly common. His humiliating interactions with the animal kingdom including dogs and goats, and goats that are confused for dogs are as ridiculous as they are hysterical.
‘DILF’ does not stray away from the risqué. Langford got into a full-blown conflict with the Daily Mail over a joke he made a while back, but he is hilariously unapologetic as he doubles down on his assault of the royals. Many of these jokes are not for the faint of heart but I must admit I was crippled with laughter as were many folks around me.
As a part of the Free Fringe Lloyd Langford is an absolute treat and a real diamond in the rough. Being a first-time parent at thirty-nine cannot be easy, but Langford’s daughter certainly has one of the funniest dads around.
