Today the Rose d’Or Awards, Europe’s premier TV and audio entertainment awards announced that Alex Horne is set to host this year’s 61st annual ceremony on November 28. The award-winning comedian, author and podcaster follows Sir Lenny Henry, Nish Kumar, and Sue Perkins, who have all hosted the Rose d’Or Awards ceremony in recent years.
Alex is most well-known for being the creator and co-host of the hit TV show, Taskmaster, which was nominated for a Rose d’Or Award last year. Proving popular around the world, from Portugal to New Zealand, Alex has made success in over 100 UK episodes to date and has received an Emmy nomination and a Royal Society Television Society Award. Alex is also the creator and frontman of the six-piece comedy band, The Horne Section, whose TV series will premiere on Channel 4 in the UK this Autumn.
“I’ve administered many tasks over the past few years, many of which end up with me getting wet or naked. It’s an absolute honour to now tackle the task of presenting the Rose d’Or Awards, which have recognised so many TV greats across the years – and if I stay dry and fully clothed at the end of the show, that’s a bonus for everyone!”
