A celebration of queerness, witches, theatre and finding yourself. Tim Murrays musical stand up show is not to be missed.

Tim Murray takes us through his childhood and his teaching career as he celebrates the witches who made him. From Elphaba to The Craft no witch is missed out even the one’s he doesn’t like!

There was not a single moment within the show where the audience fell silent and every joke landed perfectly. A series of costume changes and rewritten songs kept the audience in fits of laughter and not knowing what to expect next. Murray manages to tread the fine line between funny and cringe with his songs and hits the mark perfectly with each one.

Murray’s energy and performance create a magical atmosphere in the room. He seamlessly improvs off his audience and makes the show feel so personal to each audience member. Using personal anecdotes he relates each witch to different parts of his life and why they have been so significant to him growing up gay in America. Although parts of this show touch on difficult subjects, it’s still kept very comedic and upbeat throughout.

He keeps the audience involved asking them to participate in games and even getting the audience to tell their own stories. Which he then uses later in his show to create a brand new witchy story, a true testament to his excellent improvisation skills.

The show gives many nods to theatre and film and is certainly bound to be a hit with many! Particularly retired theatre kids, people who had a witch phase and those with an expansive knowledge of Wicked!
