As we head into the new year, we look back at some of some of Entertainment Now’s best bits.
Born in Essex, Sean Lomas has rapidly made a name since he started releasing music in 2018. Recently he released a brand-new single ‘Beautiful’ that blended touching lyrics and memorable melodies.
Entertainment Now chats with Sean Lomas about his career and latest music.
You are from Chelmsford in Essex, UK. Can you tell us about the music scene there?
Yes I’m from Chelmsford and have lived there my whole life. I used to play a lot of gigs back at school, and there’s a great venue called HotBox right in the center of town under the Railway which really champions new music. As it’s very close to London, I also travel into the City to play a lot of gigs there as well.
Are you pleased with the reaction to your new single “Beautiful”
Absolutely! The support on this track has been amazing so far, we’ve reached over 20,000 streams already and it’s only been out for a week. I’ve also had lots of people engage with my TikTok which is really nice to see as well.
What is the song about?
‘Beautiful’ tells the story of first love through the unconditionally honest lyrics. It’s all about that first time you meet someone and you just know they’re going to be the one for you. I’ve been working with some new producers this year and this is a track that I’m really proud of. I remember the first time I heard the finished production and It was just perfect.
Do you have an album on the way?
There are definitely a lot of new tracks in the works at the moment and I definitely want to release an album! Whether it’s an album or an EP, there’ll definitely be a body of work released next year so keep an eye out for that 😉
Any plans to tour?
So I’m supporting Jack Critchlow at some of the dates on his upcoming UK Tour this Autumn. You can catch me in Leeds at Oporto on the 22nd October, and in London at The Macbeth on the 9th November. I definitely want to get out on the road across the UK next year! I’ve got a few plans in the works at the moment, so expect to see me out on the road early next year!
Who would you invite to your Fantasy Dinner party (alive or dead!) – and why?
I would invite Ed Sheeran, as he was a massive inspiration for me and was why I started writing songs. Also Frank Sinatra, I’ve always loved listening to his old Jazz records. Lastly I’d have Lin-Manuel Miranda as I would love to chat to him about how he comes up with all of his amazing lyrics in his shows.
What is on your wish list for the rest of the year?
I would love to get some radio play for the new song. I’ve got some merch coming out very soon, so be sure to check my socials for updates on that! I’m currently working on new songs and so the plan is to write more so be ready for a year full of releases to come!
