The spellbinding circus act that’s travelled the world has finally landed in Edinburgh. Set in Africa, the cast demonstrate their talents from show-stopping acrobatics to extreme contortions.

Leading this production is also the creator, Yamoussa Bangoura who is a multidimensional artist who partakes in juggling, dance, music and the cyr wheel. His vocals also fill the hall as he and the accompanying band on the bass, saxophone and percussion create beautifully calming music of their own that is smooth and a gorgeous addition to their talents.

The man with seemingly no bones Mohamed Ben Sylla, is an expert at shocking his audience. Ben Sylla is able to contort his body in a way that makes you think that perhaps he doesn’t even have a spine. Resident strong man Alya Sylla, is a fan favourite for all the older ladies in the audience. His imposing frame and sensual dancing abilities has the audience swooning with delight.

Afrique en Cirque showcases peak human physicality in its truest form. The movements seem almost impossible, as they springboard off solid surfaces and each other. If they wanted to, they could form their own Olympics gymnastics team and land gold by tomorrow morning.

Afrique En Cirque, 17:10, Assembly Hall, Aug 9-13, 15-20, 22-26
