How much are you worth? This suffocating self-expression gives a new perspective on the human body; through the limits in which it can be pushed to and the toll trauma can take on the physical form.

Sacha Copland represents the human form, pushing her physicality through interpretive dance; while Tristan Carter is on the piano as an accountant. Carter’s role is to first sum up the total value of Copland’s body, by adding together the value each organ, vertebrae, nerve etc.

After a final figure is reached, they must now consider the deductibles. This means that any strain that Copland’s body has gone through is deducted from her total value based on severity.

This show can be shocking but incredibly eye-opening. Copland leads the audience on a breathing exercise, and by this point in the show you can almost hear the blood rushing in your veins, as the atmosphere created leaves you with only your thoughts after admiring Copland push her body further and further.

Anatomy for Accountants, 16:39, Summerhall – Anatomy Lecture Theatre, Aug 6-11, 13-18, 20-26
