Michelle’s a comic with big dreams and bigger delusions. Moving from her native Canada to the UK two years ago, she’s been struggling a bit with her finances. Aren’t we all.
From trusting TikTok money coaches, manifestation, to sugar dating sites, Michelle’s tried it all to get rich quick. Anything except getting a day job, obviously.
A compelling and charismatic speaker with just a touch of narcissism, Michelle’s set is the full stand-up package. Despite a lethargic crowd, she soldiers on unabashed with her tongue-in-cheek routine about a woman in denial, who has found the secret to life is procrastination.
Self-assured even when announcing her struggles and insecurities, Michelle has an indomitable spirit which brings you to her side as she schemes and plots which online snake oil she should bet her future on.
Her fears are tangible (how can I fund my lifestyle? How can I feel secure? How can I grasp the life I want which continues to evade me?) but are always told with a wink and a nudge and a joke at her own expense. Overall, the show is fully realised and a laugh from start to finish- not a dull anecdote or dud joke to speak of. I don’t know why I haven’t heard of her before.
She has all the polish and ability of an Apollo regular and I definitely see the bigger venues moving from her manifestation board to real life in the future. Michelle’s really got it all: cheek, wit, and a used panty business on the side. You’ve got to go and see her.
