Based on the film ‘Clue’ – this stage adaptation is a hilarious romp from the off. Although an ensemble piece, the shining star Michelle Collins does not disappoint as the beautifully trashy Miss Scarlett. Michelle’s physicality in the role is kept up throughout – she nails part and you couldn’t ask for more – it’s brilliant to see her take on something different – she’s a natural on stage.
Other notable performances include Wandsworth played by Jean-Luke Worrell (and Tim Curry in the film version) who glides through the show with the utmost charisma and the most incredible stage presence – surely a former dancer as his body lines were sublime and he must be well over 6ft!
Mrs Peacock, performed by Judith Amsenga, seems to channel Margaret Thatcher in her portrayal and it works – she is extremely funny and her near death scenes hilarious.
Finally, a shout out to Laura Kirman as Yvette who manages to get the faux French accent to the T and keeps the comedic flow afloat throughout in her scenes. The set is very well thought out and the direction by Mark Bell (The Play That Goes Wrong) is some of the best I have seen.
If you love slapstick humour with an incredible all-round cast this is a must see. Go!
