At an intersection between cabaret, comedy and tribute act, you will find the creation of “An Evening Without Kate Bush”. It is an absolute dream show for any superfans, but even if you’re not, you may leave this show with a new outlook on your music taste.

As the title implies, this is not an evening with Kate Bush, at least not in the way you may expect. The show is more about the fans of Kate Bush, what her music means to them, and how they share that love as a community. The show has the music of a brilliant tribute artist, as well as an entertaining comedian and a captivating public speaker. They are all the same person, making this one-woman show one of the best in that category at the festival this year.

If you are not the biggest fan of Kate Bush, and you really only know that one song that everyone knows now because of Stranger Things, then fear not, you will not be left behind. The show does cater to the fans who know the words and get the jokes about her personality, but there is also a determination to make sure everyone, whether they have a Kate Bush poster in their room or have never heard of her, has an enjoyable experience. There is also some audience participation, but that is more for the benefit of those who love Kate Bush and are looking for an opportunity to talk about her. If you think the show sounds like something you would like, but you could not talk about Kate Bush to save your life, then just sit back and enjoy this captivating, hilarious show that is redefining what it means to be a tribute act.

An Evening Without Kate Bush, 17:55, Assembly, August 18-29 (excluding August 22)
