The films are based on the books of R L Stine and directed by Leigh Janiak. Whose previous work includes the Scream TV series and Outcast. Starring Sadie Sink, Gillian Jacobs and Maya Hawke as part of the wider cast.

The trailer, which doesn’t give much away, does reveal some Scream-esque heavy breathing and a pretty terrifying masked villain. Even though it doesn’t reveal much many are itching to experience the jump scares and suspense that the trilogy will undoubtedly bring.

Netflix also released a description for the show that gives some context to the trailer and lets expectant viewers in on the premise of the trilogy.

“After a series of brutal slayings, a teen and her friends take on an evil force that’s plagued their notorious town for centuries. Welcome to Shadyside. After a series of brutal slayings, a teen and her friends take on an evil force that’s plagued their notorious town for centuries.”
