We need to stop glamorizing overworking. Please. The absence of sleep, good diet, exercise, relaxation and time with friends and family isn’t something to be applauded. Too many people wear their burnout as a badge of honour and it needs to change.

McCain’s own caption went into depth about here struggles with work-life balance and what she went through that pushed here to start valuing work-life balance.
“This has been my entire adult life.” She started off in the caption. “Trust me I love working and the satisfaction I get from it but I been the queen of burnout for a long, long time.It only took my dad dying of terminal brain cancer, suffering a horrendous miscarriage, a global pandemic where I thought I would most likely die of covid while pregnant and then experiencing first time motherhood isolated and alone in quarantine for me to receive this knowledge and really start believing it.
The pandemic affected everyone in some way or another but it seems that this last year and a half as left many with time to reflect on what they truly value in life.
“Trust me, I believe it now.” McCain continued, adding “there’s nothing in the world guaranteed- most especially tomorrow.”
In Sunday’s post, McCain made it clear though she is still working hard in her career she is going to make sure to focus on a health work-life balance to sustain a happier life.
In a time where ‘the grind never stops’ and many have businesses or alternative methods of making money on the side it takes a lot to step back and set priorities. But it is becoming more apparent that there should be times in out lives that we carve out to step away from technology, work and stress to take care of ourselves and our mental health.
