Trevor Lock welcomes us into the room and hands the audience post it stickers and pens. He asks us all to add him on WhatsApp for the purposes of the show without telling us what will happen next. From this moment I feel sure I am in for a treat.

As the show opens we find out immediately that we have to send anonymous questions, confessions and even compliments for and about our fellow audience members to Trevor as he reads them out in turn creating a funny, sentimental and often flirty energy in the room. One poor audience member ends up on stage getting the brunt of most of the jokes. We even discover one of Lock’s old school friends is in the audience.

The way the seats are set out for this show means the audience is facing each other and there are eight audience members sitting on stage with Lock. This makes the show much more intimate and friendly. The way Lock conducts this room makes everyone feel so comfortable and welcome and the questions and confessions make everyone in the room feel like old friends and family.

Lock also helps to bring out the funny side of his audience, with some members of audience making hilarious one liners and jokes throughout. An award for best contribution to the show is awarded at the end.

This show is all about the audience and if you’re not prepared to be called out this perhaps isn’t the one for you. But Lock has come up with such a great way to bring people together and create a random hour of fun comedy.
