When we arrived at Yamas, Texas, we had a huge welcome at the door which immediately made an impact. Authentic is the only word to describe the Greek owned- family run restaurant.
Husband Chris developed and built the restaurant alongside his wife Roxie who has impeccable taste in decor and attention to detail. Cosy inside restaurant and huge outside patio – in or out you think you ARE in Greece.
Chris developed the menu and continued to be hands-on in the kitchen alongside a team of young chefs – special shout out to his 24-year-old chef Carlos. Daughter Mackenzie is a general manager who keeps a tight ship. Their team of waiters do an amazing job too!
Now the food…. The array of traditional Greek dishes is incredible. I tried starters that included stunning feta dishes with local Greek honey and aubergine salad followed by beautifully prepared fresh seafood dishes like ceviche and oysters followed by the most delicious lamp chops and chicken souvlaki! They didn’t put a foot wrong! Fruit naturally followed but I couldn’t squeeze any more in!
Stunning new addition to Austin and a destination restaurant worth travelling to for out-of-towners.
