Stageplayer launches partnership with Australian theatre shows

UK performing arts streaming platform StagePlayer+ has announced an exclusive partnership with Australian Theatre Live allowing viewers worldwide to access Australian stories otherwise not seen.

After two years locked down theatres are back open (yay!) but not everyone is able to go. Stageplayer means that the best of Australian theatre is available to all including those living with immuno-suppressing conditions or other disabilities that may prevent them from attending live theatre. It’s also a great way of giving access to carers or people who due to childcare or other responsibilities can’t get away. A netflix for theatre, StagePlayer+ gives access to the arts for all, even if just those unable to get to Australia. In a global world, it’s no longer necessary to restrict viewing to your home countries offerings and the new partnership allows Australian theatre to get a wider audience.

Rich Jacobs, CEO of Player+ who own and operate StagePlayer+, said, “As the world’s first pay-per-view streaming platform for the Performing Arts, StagePlayer+ is excited to partner with Australian Theatre Live and help celebrate and share the artistic achievements of Australia’s rich theatrical culture with a global audience”..

Grant Dodwell, Creative Director of Australian Theatre Live, said, “It’s fantastic to join with StagePlayer+ in opening this huge international window to Australian stories on stage in a way that makes them much more easily accessible. It gives people of all cultures an opportunity to enjoy, criticise and understand the world from an Australian perspective”.

UK Performing Arts streaming platform, StagePlayer+ is proud to announce its exclusive partnership with Australian Theatre Live, making Australian stories on stage accessible to all arts lovers around the world for the first time, regardless of language and location.

Shows added include

AWAY – It’s the summer of 1967, and three families head away for a beach holiday.

EMERALD CITY – Fading screenwriter Colin is not long in Sydney before he’s seduced by its obsession with success.

YOU’RE NOT SPECIAL – Dan meets an attractive stranger, setting off a series of events that threaten to derail his life.

LIBERTY EQUALITY FRATERNITY – Australian culture and politics put under the microscope.

THE DAPTO CHASER – Against all the odds, he’s betting on a miracle.

Distributing content to over 130 million TV households worldwide, StagePlayer+ is the world’s first pay-per-view Performing Arts focused platform, giving culture fans access to premium West End and Broadway shows, local theatre productions, live music concerts, dance, stand-up comedy and independent films, all in one place.
Acting as a virtual venue, StagePlayer+ offers the ultimate in flexibility and convenience, with no monthly subscription, whereupon viewers only pay for the shows they want to watch, which aims to help theatres and production companies monetise their content and thrive in a post-pandemic world.
