Through an engaging and intimate show Matt Price tells of a true life story that led him to changing his outlook on life completely. The show although serious at points is also sprinkled with light-hearted humour and some horrible whale noises so there is truly a little bit of everything.

Through a life coach and some interesting experiences with some infamous London gangsters Price had a sudden realisation whilst interviewing these criminals on why they do what they do. He ends up getting to know their minds almost too well and seeing them as quite likeable characters in turn he forgets to see them for what they are. A death threat from a very notorious London gangster snaps him back to reality and makes him realise what they might do to him if he does something they don’t like.

Price’s comedy is real and serious but he has a great way of intertwining both difficulty and laughs in a way that many comedians struggle to deliver. Instead of standing on stage he walks around the audience for most of his show asking questions and making sure everyone is involved. In doing this Price makes his show feel more like a conversation between friends rather than a show, which makes him even more likeable as not only a comedian but as a person.

Although based on his experiences around some pretty scary folk this show in many ways is a love letter to Price’s wife. He mentions her often throughout the hour and with so much admiration, affection, and love, it’s clear she’s made a huge impact on him and his life. Comedians often try to make crass jokes about their love life and partners but it was lovely and refreshing to hear how positively Price talks about his wife.

An hour of great storytelling and comedy, Price strikes a great balance between them both.
