Novellie is a wonderfully sarcastic and witty comedian with a wonderful presence that immediately draws you in.

Novellie has roots from all over the world, his normal gigs usually spend much time delving into his family history and life. . Looking to change this Novellie spends the hour trying to get through to the audience who he really is.

We discover why he learned to play instruments he didn’t like, his favourite books and how it was to grow up different from his classmates.

Novellie’s discusses British culture and the issues we have as a country. His takes on British life compared to the rest of Europe are truly hysterical and a real dive into why we act the way we do. A particularly fabulous joke about Ribena was one of my favourites of the hour.

Unlike most other fringe comedians Novellie doesn’t have much crowd work or audience participation which I actually really enjoyed. It was nice to have a change and to not fear for your life in the audience! Instead Novellie’s show had a real underlying meaning and was solely focused on him and his stories. The format gives a great flow to his show whilst also being filled with laughs.

The end of the show is wonderful, it brings the whole hour together and has the audience howling with laughter. Novellie is a truly compelling comedian and this show is a real hit.
