Julia Haart from ‘My Unorthodox Life’ Flies to London to Receive Icon Award at London Fashion Week

American fashion designer Julia Haart from the hit Netflix series ‘My Unorthodox Life,’ flies to London tomorrow (Friday 15th September) to receive The Icon Award for Innovation & Impact at THIS IS ICON during London Fashion Week.  

The award is in deserved recognition of her work in the fashion and technology industries, including her recently launched shapewear brand and her inspiring philanthropic and humanitarian pursuits.

This year’s THIS IS ICON will be hosting three runway shows including one from the industry’s most beloved global designer, Malan Breton; ascending talent Ross Griffiths who will present his ‘wearable for everyone’ Kingfisher Couture SS24 collection and the latest designs from JCA – the Jimmy Choo Academy.

In addition to the runway shows, THIS IS ICON will present a number of awards on the night for contributions to fashion, music and philanthropy.

Musical entertainment will include a performance by NME’s hotly tipped girl band Y.Q.S who will release their new single ‘Love Language’ in aid of Prost8, a charity dedicated to deliver cutting-edge, minimally invasive procedures to men diagnosed with low to intermediate prostate cancer.

Ahead of the main event in the evening, at 4.30pm Julia Haart will launch her shapewear brand +BODY BY JULIA HAART and host a meet and greet in the gifting lounge.

Julia’s work is both impactful and far-reaching as she proves to use her platform to be a powerful force for positive change in the world. Julia’s unwavering support for women’s rights serve as a beacon of hope in a world where women’s choices are under threat.

Julia’s advocacy extends globally as a champion of democracy, particularly in regions like Ukraine, and Rwanda, where she led missions to deliver essential humanitarian supplies to people in need. Her unwavering dedication to the right to freedom is an inspiration to all.

Julia Haart’s life and work embody the essence of this award, celebrating her as a true ICON in the realms of fashion, humanitarianism, and the empowerment of women.

Other award winners include Elton Ilirjani – fashion luminary and LGBTQ+ activist, Crystal Walters – American singer and songwriter best known for her 1990’s dance hits Gypsy Woman and 100% Pure Love, Kristine W – acclaimed solo artist and entrepreneur and fashion designer Malan Breton.

Celebrity attendance includes, American actress, dancer and singer Polma Garcia- Lee, Emilia Boateng – model, Dame Emma Thompson’s daughter, actress and environmental activist Gaia Wise, former professional footballer Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock and his wife Leah, Hollyoaks and Eastenders soap actor Fabrizio Santino, Naomi Isted – fashion and beauty TV presenter and columnist, Tolula Adeyemi – actress, Nicola Posener – actress, British singer-songwriter Ben Ofoedu, solo recording artist Kule T, Irina Pantaeva – Russian model and actress, Made in Chelsea star Sophie Hermann, British socialite Lady Victoria Hervey, American socialite Consuelo Vanderbilt, footballer Jamie O’Hara, actress and TV personality Downtown Julie Brown, actress and producer Karen Bryson and Love Island’s Mehdi Edno.

THIS IS ICON takes place at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms 61 – 65 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5DA in aid of the prostate cancer charity prost8.org.uk on Friday 15th September.
