The eclectic world of internet personality Dylan Mulvaney is shown on stage for the very first time in an autobiographical show dealing with Mulvaney’s own issues of sexuality, as well as gender identity, and life after the internet turns against her.

Mulvaney rose to fame on TikTok, through a diary series detailing each day of transitioning into a female, which amassed over nine million followers. For those who have followed Mulvaney’s content, the show provides further insight into Mulvaney’s life from the beginning to present day.

The high value production uses a pink Barbie inspired set, with gorgeously cohesive costuming and props. The introduction begins with Mulvaney as an angel in heaven discussing going back down to earth and starting anew as Mulvaney. Growing up catholic meant life could get complicated for a closeted trans woman, so instead she embraces life as a gay man and tries to ignore her desire to be a woman.

During the second half, it details Mulvaney’s life once she is exposed to the public eye. Mulvaney accounts the difficulties of being under the microscope as a trans woman and the unrealistic standards that she must meet or face the wrath of online cancellation.

Mulvaney provides a perfect blend of the hilarity and rawness of her own life to create a show that humanises this beloved public figure. She is a natural born starlet who can hold her own on stage, while possessing an impressive singing voice, and be sure to bring yours too when you come along.
