A colourful display of tap dancing excellence by Japanese group, Tokyo Tap Do! make their return to Fringe in style. They sport bright pink jumpsuits and take to the stage in their unified tap dancing fashion.

The smiles are contagious with this group, as they are enthusiastic with the audience. Their enthusiasm makes it easy to join in when the audience has some key participation roles involving clapping and repeating back some Japanese phrases, as we all laugh at our terrible pronunciation together.

Their various tap dancing routines are creative, with one involving a tap dancing spin on Irish dancing and circus style tricks. One especially original dance involves a dance you do when you have to hold in your pee whilst waiting for the toilet.

This intriguing show is entertaining, but I can’t help but feel it would work better as a family show and appeal to that audience more. The little girl in the front row was having a blast and laughing at their facial expressions and over the top actions.
