An immersive experience taking fans on a journey through British music history opens its doors for the first time in May in the heart of Camden.
From the 1960s to the present day, Live Odyssey features artists including the Beatles, David Bowie, The Smiths the Libertines and Stormzy.
To mark the launch in May, there will be an exclusive holographic performance by The Libertines, one of the UK’s most charismatic and exciting bands.
Carl Barât of The Libertines said: “This is something truly special. Performing in Camden for this project brought everything full circle for us. Knowing it will live on as part of Live Odyssey is truly exciting—it’s a tribute to the music that shaped us and the fans who’ve supported us.”
Band mate Pete Docherty said he was excited by the way Live Odyssey will allow fans to come up close to music history. “British music thrives on its history and its ability to evolve. Being part of this is thrilling—it’s like stepping into the future while paying homage to the past”.
Live Odyssey boasts previously unseen live footage as well as authentic photography from the UK’s vibrant music scene. In addition, there will be heritage items from artists that will be constantly changing including Bowie’s microphone from Glastonbury, leads from Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ recording alongside original album art that includes Beatles magical mystery tour, Kate Bush’s ‘The Whole Story’ and Rolling Stones ‘Slow Rollers’.
Creative director Garry Prosser said: “Live Odyssey is not just a tribute to the rich tapestry of British music; it’s a celebration of the community, creativity, and passion that defines our live music scene. By blending innovative technology with the spirit of live performance, we’re creating a space where fans can connect with the legends of the past whilst inspiring the talent of tomorrow.
“By combining holograms of the UK’s most iconic acts and live performances, we aim to bridge generations of music lovers This journey through our musical history is a heartfelt reminder that every great artist starts somewhere, and it’s our responsibility to nurture those beginnings.”
Live Odyssey has partnered with Pop Nouveau, holder of one of the largest private collections of music art in the world, to curate the exhibition that will celebrate iconic album and single covers, and unseen artwork that have defined generations of artists. A highlight will be the Lennon Wired Exhibition, created by renowned artist James Wilkinson. Each piece in the collection features intricate segments from microphone leads, which Wilkinson acquired from the sale of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Tittenhurst Park estate.
John Lennon’s sister Julia said: “I’m overawed to know that these wires James has included in his work were part of the creative process that became the iconic song, Imagine. I am sure you will love it as much as I do.”
