How many puns can Lucy Pearman make about the moon? The opportunities are endless with Pearman, who creates a silly and whimsical show about a nursery rhyme.

Pearman floats down the aisle whilst singing Total Eclipse of the Heart, encouraging the audience to join in from the start. She makes quite the entrance in her striking costume, a silver circle, with two cheeky aliens covering her chest (they’ll make sense later), and the word moon across her back.

Pearman soon spots her first victim of the show, someone who will have to carry her on and off the stage every time she needs. There are many different characters in this show, a cow, a cat, the earth, all part of ‘Hey Diddle Diddle’, these create some hilarious moments including Saturn hula hooping. Each character has their own bit, which is carefully thought out and played by a different audience member. Her studded suitcase is not unlike Mary Poppins, as she pulls out various props to help set the scene.

The moon receives various phone calls via banana during the show, all from the Sun, complaining about her screen time. Pearman has her back to the audience during this, in which she mentions is the perfect time to sneak out, of course no one does.

The performer brings a certain charm to her show, calling the audience endearing pet names, which makes everyone eager to join in.

Between various Uranus jokes, Pearman creates a playful and quirky character and a very fun show.

Lucy Pearman: Lunartic, 13:00, CabVol 1 at Monkey Barrel Comedy (Cabaret Voltaire, until 24th August (not 18)
