Edfringe Comedy Review: Paul Sinha: 2 Sinha Lifetime

Paul Sinha is back at the Fringe, this time with a memoir of his life. After an eventful past few years, Sinha gives us behind the scenes access.

Most celebrities write what Sinha describes as ‘cosy crime’ when they are needing a redirection, instead this comedian shares his life story through stand up and original song.

Opening with a hilarious reading of another celebrities’ crime book, Sinha’s infamous dry humour means that the audience are already laughing.

2 Sinha Lifetime mostly follows Sinha’s recent health diagnosis. The former Chaser manages to make light of his Parkinsons throughout the show, including what he believes are the advantages of having the disease.

The show also focuses on Sinha’s two heart attacks during a previous Fringe festival. His intelligence shines through as he discusses his near-death experience and describes his thoughts whilst under anaesthesia.

The show is somewhat political, with jokes about very recent events, showing Sinha’s ability to churn out comedy. We also get to hear Sinha’s jokes from early on in his career, which whilst unrefined, show his potential from the start.

Sinha’s stage presence is undeniable as he often finds ways to talk about his husband. He shares anecdotes about being invited to accept awards from top LGBTQ+ publications and later being asked back to host the ceremony. This makes for a very funny moment and song about meeting Elton John.

The audience are in constant roar of laughter during Sinha’s set, a testament to his true talent.
