Suspend your belief in this reality, 3D laws of physics, and the science of Jurassic Park-level cloning, and strap in for Shitty Mozart.

Frivolous, ridiculous, lavatorial, and in parts ramshackle, Aaron Nemo’s multimedia alter-ego darts between the gross-out and the whimsically silly with all the predictability of the flightpath of a bumble bee. At times it’s more tuned in for an American audience, like the song referencing American football team mascot animals, and a ‘frat boy’ tone of silliness. But fundamentally he’s pulling us into his world rather than stepping out into ours, which works just fine.

The movement and relationships between the projector screen animations, lighting, musical technology and the performer blurs lines entertainingly, allowing banter through broken fourth walls and sound cues. It’s punk pantomime, and that’s most clear when he’s calling for audience ‘roasts’ to amusingly and ineffectively bat away with a teched up-recorder (the kind you used to blow through in school music class).

The humour is hit and miss, but it’s plentiful, so even if one bit doesn’t land so well you can be sure another is on the horizon with fresh and random ideas. There are a few political points made – specifically and surprisingly about the recent Trump shooting and productive rights issues in Alabama – but mostly it’s playing to the absurd with jokes about bodily functions.

Shitty Mozart feels like an unmade bed – slightly grotty yet enticing. And like an unmade bed it revels in a certain amount of dirty laundry that calls, but might not be for everyone every night.

Gilded Balloon Patter House – Nip, 19.45, Until 25 August
