Entertainment Now was sent a bottle of Eisberg Mulled Wine to try for our Christmas Treats section.

Sorry to be ungrateful but it’s not something I’d recommend.

I saved it till a part time non drinker came round for some Christmas pie – happily warmed the wine in a pan, added some spice, reached for a glass of warming, non alcoholic festive cheer.

The taste is vinegar, with a swirl of sugar. To be fair Eisberg recommend a twist of orange peel and a stick of cinammon but I didn’t have any so I improvised with ground allspice.

I don’t think any additions could make this drinkable. It tastes like wine that’s been left overnight at the end of a party. The rest of the bottle stayed in the pan and I dashed out to buy an alcoholic bottle that would at least taste like wine…
