Iceland Airwaves, the world’s most northerly music showcase, has revealed the first round of artists set to perform at the 2025 edition taking place in Downtown Reykjavík from November 6-8, 2025. Along with the lineup announcement, ticket and travel packages have been released in partnership with Icelandair.
This year’s festival brings together an exciting mix of emerging international talent and celebrated Icelandic artists. Manchester poet and producer Antony Szmierek heads the international contingent alongside south London post-punk group DEADLETTER and Saddest Factory Records signee jasmine.4.t. Irish folk/metal outfit The Scratch and experimental rising stars The Orchestra (For Now) and provocative club figurehead Babymorocco round out the initial wave of artists.
The lineup also features viral sensations like South African-born British producer Kenya Grace and Dallas-based rap star ian. London’s Fat Dog will bring their chaotic live show to Reykjavík following the release of their debut album WOOF in 2024. New Zealand pop-maestro ratbag, Lithuanian beach-pop duo Superkoloritas, and Serbian-Canadian folk singer-songwriter Jelena Ciric further diversify the international offerings.
Iceland Airwaves continues its tradition of showcasing the best of Iceland’s music scene with hometown heroes including musician and actress Elín Hall and trip-hop influenced artist Sunna Margrét. Electronic duo Milkywhale, keyboardist and producer Magnús Jóhann, and experimental noise-punk outfit Tófa will represent the diverse sounds emerging from Iceland.
The festival, which began in 1999 as a one-off event in an airplane hangar, has evolved into a premier music discovery platform situated halfway between North America and Europe. Beyond the music, Iceland Airwaves offers visitors the unique opportunity to combine world-class performances with unforgettable tourism experiences. Festival-goers can spend their days exploring attractions like the Sky Lagoon or Lava Caves and enjoying Reykjavík’s evolving food scene before diving into a night of electric showcases and parties.
In the lead-up to Iceland Airwaves 2025, several featured artists will travel to Austin, Texas next month for an exclusive SXSW showcase. Elín Hall, Sunna Margrét, lúpína, and superserious will perform at the event presented by Iceland Airwaves, Iceland Music, Business Iceland, and Record in Iceland.
