Former burlesque superstar Entendre Entendre graces the stage with her show SMUT.
This solo show is part memoir/part book launch recounting wild tales from her days as a Burlesque show girl delivered through song, poetry, casual undressing and intense audience interaction (if you’re shy be warned).
Bryn Woznicki (Entendre Entendre) creates a striking balance between rude comedy and being genuinely moving. Her storytelling allows the audience to go on a journey with her, whether that is through being used as a human prop or simply laughing at her excellently timed humour.
Her costuming (or the lack thereof), is to be admired, following the story and flow of the show through casual nudity and glitter. Her ‘undressing’ throughout reflects her openness to the audience as she is giving a part of herself to us through the sharing of a few funny, and a few sad times in her life. This is truly an art.
Entendre Entendre is far from scared of awkward silences, sadness, and serious turns as she switches from light-hearted ‘banter’ that had audience members spilling their own saucy secrets to transforming into a moment of vulnerability and self-reflection.
Bryn knows how to make a group of people laugh until their stomachs hurt but she also knows how to silence a room, that’s what makes this show special.
