Reformer Pilates is a low-impact exercise method performed on a specialized sliding bed frame called a reformer. It uses adjustable springs, straps, and body weight to create dynamic resistance, helping you build core strength, flexibility, and muscle control without stressing your joints. 

It is one of the hottest trends of the internet but is it really as glamorous as it seems?

When newcomer Sophie arrives late to class (without the essential Pilates grippy socks!), she picks the reformer bed next to Lottie, a regular attendee of a brutally pretentious fitness studio. 

This two-person show delves into trending beauty standards, conspiracies, and the small topic of what it means to be a woman all while doing a reformer workout. In an incredible feat of stamina, Sophie and Lottie battle through pretence of sometimes-fraught female friendships.

This brutally honest show starts of as a competition of hypocrisy and moral superiority slowly reveals itself as a magnification of how society judges the disposition of women. It’s a reminder of how easy it is to get lost inside social expectations that are ever-changing. 

Joyously written and performed by Eddie Thornton, herself as Lottie, and Anna Glendenning as Sophie, this is a very relatable performance, especially if you are a Pilates princess yourself or a regular gym goer.

Make sure to bring your grippy socks along for this show, as well as a good amount of self-confidence!
