Jordan Brookes arrives barefoot and immediately fills the stage with a flamboyant energy. He moves with an almost effortless looseness, using his whole body to land a joke. There is something disarmingly relaxed about his presence; watching him feels like spending an hour with someone completely at ease with his own quirks and mannerisms.

The show finds its rhythm in the mundane, Brooke’s picks at the social interactions and rituals we all relate to, like choosing a train seat, eating in public, replaying the same song while walking down the street, or navigating an awkward interaction with a stranger. He invites the audience into these conversations, gathering their opinions before spiralling into his own experiences and observations.

In his element, Brookes makes the ordinary feel wonderfully strange. His physical comedy gives his material an edge that sets him apart from other comics. Overall, the performance carries a warmth that is difficult to resist. Brookes has an instinct for finding comedy in the everyday, and his willingness to expose the ridiculousness of human behaviour makes the show both relatable and charming, an enjoyable hour with plenty of personality.
