Tell us about your show.    Why should we go and see it?

It’s very different from your standard stand up show! It’s a lot more theatrical, the whole show is one story – and it’s about a big subject (Chronic illness, hospitals) – but it’s very funny! I’ve been a stand up for ten years so know how to make the big subjects funny.

What are your hopes and dreams for the Fringe?.

You have to keep your ego in check during the Fringe, and keep things rational. I would like to be cast in a Hollywood movie with Margot Robbie.

What makes you laugh?

If the Edinburgh Comedy Awards had any clue about what’s funny, then the award would go to my dog – who is staring at me as I answer this, and it is funnier than anything that happens during the festival.

What three words best describe your performance style – and why.

Bloody good fun  – despite the semi serious subject matter of my show, it’s a good time. People have fun.

How will your audience think/feel differently after an hour in your company?

You’ll certainly have a better insight into inflammatory bowel disease. As well as more understanding into the ins and outs of long term hospital stays. You’ll laugh, you might cry and I hope you’ll get some new perspectives about life.

What kind of shows – apart from your own – are you looking forward to seeing at the Edinburgh Fringe?

I normally check out a couple circus shows. Seeing acrobats fling each other across stages makes what I do seem much more low stakes.

The cost of living is a big issue this year – will it make this Fringe more challenging?

Yes. I’ve spent more money than ever on my show and need to break even, so the pressure and stress is increased. So many people I know can’t come because of accommodation – so I’m sure that’ll affect audience numbers.

What do you predict will emerge as the big themes of this year.

I’ve seen about eight posters of different male comedians wearing vests.

Who is your showbiz idol and why.

Nina Simone, who never changed, never backed down, and threatened to shoot someone who didn’t pay her.

What is your idea of a perfect Fringe moment?

Those moments in shows that happen once. Little moments of improvisation, that everyone knows was unique and special to that one show.
