The ISH Awards, established when the Edinburgh Comedy Awards lost its sponsors, has announced its inaugural awards.
The award for Best Comedy was won jointly by Julia Masli, for her show ha ha ha ha ha ha ha and Paul Foot, for his show Dissolve.
Best newcomer was also shared – between Dan Tiernan and Fiona Ridgewell.
The panel prize went to A Show for Gareth Richards, where top name comedians played the Free Fringe in the slot Richards had booked before his death in April.
The Award Ceremony at the Three Sisters venue was hosted by Patrick Monahan, with contributions from absurdist comic Mark Silcox, awards producer Sarah Bowles and comic Nathan Cassidy – who wrote a Facebook post which inspired the wards.
Bowles said the ISH (Insert Sponsor Here) Awards had been a huge success and would be continuing next year, with or, without a sponsor.
The prize was judged by a panel volunteers, including avid comedy fans.
