The queens at Briefs Factory promise fun in this action-packed hour, and they do not disappoint.
Fronted by the amazing Tash York, this Sweatshop is full of laughs, energy and of course outfit changes. The cast of queens all have their individual talents that will leave you dumbfounded, swinging from the ceiling and defying death with their acrobatics. But they can also really sing, proving their talent as they belt these enjoyably daft freestyles and reworks of your favourite Celine Dion classics. Some stunts may be more awe inspiring than others as I’ve never seen someone down a pint in the way I did at ‘Briefs: Sweatshop’. But this is as much a part of the act as anything else, and it’s great.
They’re sassy, and rude and love to talk about drink and drugs. There’s something inherently naughty about it all and that’s why the audience gets so rowdy; it feels like an earthquake when everyone is stamping their feet. The room is near constantly deafened by whooping and cheering but it’s impossible not to when witnessing such enjoyable debauchery on stage.
This show is inclusive and the whole Briefs cast makes you feel so welcomed (except maybe Serenity). They’re empowering, they’re daft, they’re sexy but most of all they just know how to put on an absolutely riotous show. They get the audience involved, including a rather unique raffle, so make sure you get your tickets and get a chance to get up close and personal with some of the world’s premier queens.
If you love drag and cabaret then you definitely need to see ‘Briefs: Sweatshop’, and if you don’t, go and see it anyway and be proved almightily wrong. It’s high-octane fun that will amaze you with a fantastical hour of singing, dancing and so much more.
