The title of this show tells you everything you need to know. Will Mars is at the festival to tell audiences about his life. How he grew up poor, what his family situation was like, his dating life, getting older, settling down etc. but he is a comedian who loves a pun. This means, naturally, he will tell you his tales via an hour of one-liners.

Even though his show deals with some heavy topics from his childhood, Will Mars is looking at the positive side of things, or rather the funny side of things. “My Life In One-Liners” showcases a very specific style of comedy that may not be to everyone’s taste, but it is amazingly funny nonetheless.

His likeable, and slightly sad demeanour are both on display during this hour of comedy, as he will either have you laughing because of the pun, or laughing at the pain along with him. His delivery is brilliant, his jokes are hilarious and he has the talent to do well in the industry, what’s not to like?

During the show, he speaks about how he is quite different at home compared to how he is on stage, which makes sense as it would be a challenge to translate his comedic style into normal conversation. In this show, Will Mars hits you with so many one-liners that you better not spend too long laughing, otherwise you’ll have missed the next joke, or the next five jokes. If you are a fan of classic, silly standup comedy, Will Mars has got the show for you.

Will Mars: My Life In One-Liners, 14:20, Gilded Balloon, August 17-28.
