London Independent Pictures have announced a new award-winning and highly anticipated film, Ghosted. The topical romantic comedy is directed by Daniel Pacquette (As Bad As Me, Magnificent Dribble, Due Dating) and is written by, produced and starring Jade Asha (The Intent, Villain, Badness, Due Dating).
Ghosted takes on the much-loved form of a traditional romantic comedy but with a relatable modern-day twist. The film is based on true events in lead actress, writer and producer Jade Asha’s life and holds the title as a rendition of ‘Fleabag meets Annie Hall’.
“Every time I went through yet another breakup, I would turn to a romcom to reassure myself that I wasn’t the only one going through this torment. I decided to turn my experiences into a film in the hope that I could help others. I also wanted to create relatable characters; British, diverse, and with money struggles – like the people in my world.”

The film follows the struggles of actress Mercy, who is forced back into the dating scene after a bad breakup -confident that meeting guys will be easy. After being turned down for a one-night stand with nice guy Michael, she focuses her attention on dating apps to speed up the rebounding process. Mercy’s girlfriends push her into meeting American architect Blake, who she falls head over heels for on their first date. Yet, afraid that she may lose him, she decides to take fate into her own hands and does everything she can to keep him in the picture, even if it comes at the cost of own life and career. Mercy risks losing more than just the man of her dreams.
Ghosted has already garnered 12 awards, including the Hollywood Gold Award for Best Indie Feature, the New York Movie Awards for Indie Feature Silver Award, the Cinematic European Film Festival award for Best Actress and the Anatolian Film Awards for Best Actress and Best Comedy.
