Veteran gay comic Scott Capurro has been reported to Islington Police for ‘homophobia’ after a gig at a central London club.

Capurro, a playwright, actor, broadcaster and comic, reacted by releasing a series of videos on social media asking how he can become ‘more gay’.

He said: “I was playing a club in London and I was informed there had been a hate crime reported about me.

“The club didn’t know what to do.  Apparently someone called in and told the police in Islington that I’m homophobic.

“I don’t know what to do about this except ignore it.  It’s not enough that I have had sex with over 2,000 men in the last 20 years.  And I’m married to a guy.  And I come from San Francisco.”

Capurro said he had contacted Islington Police for more information about the ‘non crime-related hate incident’ but had received no feedback.
