Circa deliver a hauntingly terrifying performance that pushes the boundaries of human ability and endurance. The show from this Australian contemporary company is a breathtaking showcase of raw talent, featuring ten extraordinary dancers who command the stage with unparalleled power and grace.

From the moment they step into the spotlight, these performers captivate the audience, leaving them in awe of their physical prowess and precision. As the performance unfolds, the dancers engage in a relentless cycle of constructing and deconstructing towering human structures. The intensity of their movements is both mesmerizing and exhausting to witness, as each dancer must maintain peak physical condition for the entire hour-long performance.

The audience, can feel the strain and dedication required to sustain such a taxing routine. Despite the difficulty, the dancers execute each move with a sense of effortlessness. Every motion is meticulously calculated, as a single mistake could lead to serious injury for themselves or their fellow performers.

The surreal quality of the performance makes it feel as though it is something not of this world. The dancers’ seemingly inhuman abilities defy logic, with petite women supporting the weight of grown men leaping onto their backs. This level of strength and balance creates an almost otherworldly atmosphere, where the boundaries of what is physically possible are constantly being redefined.

This poised production of perfection elicits a visceral reaction from the audience. The tension is palpable as viewers are torn between the instinct to look away from the nerve-wracking feats being performed.

Circa: Humans 2.0, Underbelly’s Circus Hub – The Lafayette, 18:20, until August 24
