Christmas Treats Review: Tony’s Chocolonely Countdown Calendar

Tony’s Chocolonely is a brand that has rooted itself in its ethics, with its primary directive being to end exploitation in cocoa and using only traceable cocoa beans that have been ethically sourced. Its bright colours and matt packaging gives the brand a slightly retro feel, especially when it first sprung up in Oxfam shops up and down the country.

This year debuts Tony’s Small Advent Calendar, which is a bit of a deceptive name seeing as it stands approximately 37cm tall, with its own cardboard tail at the back popping out to allow it to be stood up independently on any flat surface steady enough.
The countdown goes from 1 to 24, the windows a little fiddly to open and in hexagonal shapes. The chocolates inside are individually wrapped and a mixture of sea salt and milk chocolate Tinys. It’s Tony’s on brand solid chocolate, moulded into chunky coin form and no-nonsense deliciousness for all ages.
