Christmas Treats Review: Niche Cocktails: Not So Much

Given the nature of this trio of cocktails in their classier than usual little cans, I get my girly head on and tune into Strictly, who are having a gorgeous glitterfest in Blackpool.

My co-taster, Ricardo, and I have nibbles and proper cocktail glasses poised and pour the Pink Grapefruit Gin Fizz first. 8 per cent. It is very pink and quite bitter.

Next is the Raspberry Cosmo 10 per cent. There is a very definite hint of cough mixture here, Or maybe cheap raspberry cordial which someone has forgotten to dilute.

Finally the Matcha Mojito, which boasts Matcha Green Tea along with lime, mint and rum. If you can get past the really rather unpleasant initial taste, you do get a hint of mint and lime, which is lovely, but suggests that ditching the Matcha Green Tea would be the way to go for me.

Now, colour me suspicious, but, when it says on a can, where the ingredients should be listed. “mixed with …” and then a couple of ingredients, I cannot help but feel there are other additives lurking, unmentioned, there. It most certainly tastes like it.

It may be that, when a girl is on her fifth Niche Raspberry Cosmo it will seem delicious. I am afraid I could not get through a whole can of any of them. And I love me a Mojito !
