Aideen McQueen kicks off her comic play by inviting you into her emotional online chaos.
Lucy, played by McQueen, invites you into her Dublin flat to chat about the various men in her life – or frustratingly only in her WhatsApp. Be it a situationship, fling, colleague who really doesn’t understand voice memos, or even her brother, Lucy expresses her dilemmas with love and men.
As you enter the theatre, Aideen is already in her role, lying down on the stage with a glass of wine half split, inviting you in to take a seat. Think about where you sit. If you are not up for talking or handing out advice, this is not the show for you!
Lucy talks you through her various techniques for “bettering” herself and gets the audience involved in the process. Little does she know, a persistent friend will be the driving force to healing.
Towards the end of the show the room goes quiet for the first time. McQueen jumps from crude to a more sombre mood and a darker secret begins to reveal itself..
