Edfringe Review: Adults Only Magic Show

I was admittedly apprehensive when I heard whispers of what happens in Adults Only Magic Show. However, my nerves soon vanished as I laughed my way through the outrageous performance. If you are prepared for nudity and potentially being pulled up on stage in an hour-long 18+ interactive magic show, then you will be sure to enjoy your night.

Hosted by Magnus Danger Magnus, who opens with X-rated jokes and a clear promise of why it’s called Adults Only. He is charismatic and works the crowd well, setting the scene for what’s to come. Audience participation is integral, with beer tokens used as a bribe.

Magicians Sam and Justin are brilliant magicians and are equally talented as comedians. Their chemistry bounces off each other as they perform trick after trick filled with innuendo. It would fall short if the magic wasn’t up to scratch but due to their showmanship and talent, the climax (no pun intended) of each magic trick is a genuine delight. The blend of adult material, comedy and magic works seamlessly well and everyone in attendance was blushing from the reveals and the jokes.

The Adults Only Magic Show offers exactly what you expect from the name and if you want to have a good laugh at some dirty jokes while also seeing impressive magic tricks then you will want to come and see the this show.

Adults Only Magic Show, 21.25, Studio Three at Assembly George Square Studios until Aug 24
