Maxwell the Bubbleologist graces the stage in a sequin suit to share his talent in The Flying Bubble Show.
Maxwell describes bubbles as his relaxation and meditation, often throughout the show he will tell the audience to take a deep breath. This makes The Flying Bubble Show a calm and enchanting experience. He is soft spoken and has a wonderful voice that engages the crowd. He is witty and makes jokes for the adults in the crowd.
This show is a real feast for the eyes as Maxwell attempts to continue to make bigger bubbles throughout the show. He encourages the children to “never give up” as he displays examples of preserving through his work.
Both children and adults can enjoy this show, as Maxwell impresses the audience with the weird and wonderful things he can do with bubbles, such as making a bubble ‘pregnant’. Each trick is as impressive as the last, paired with music to make a complete spectacle.
Maxwell uses a range of tools to outshine his last trick. Children in the audience are mesmerised by the bubbles, as it is also a somewhat interactive show, since the bubbles reach their seat. There are many tricks in this show that will leave you questioning how they are possible.
The staging is fantastic in this circular theatre, which means everyone can enjoy the show no matter where you are sitting.
The Flying Bubble Show ends with a spectacular finale, creating intricate and beautiful patterns. He encourages the children one final time with “anything is possible”.
