Mercury Retrograde November 2025: Your Ultimate Survival Guide (And How To Stay Sane)

A close up of the planet Mercury

If your phone’s been acting strangely, your emails keep going missing, or your travel plans already look like a not-so-funny comedy sketch, you’re not imagining it. Mercury is about to go retrograde, and the cosmic countdown has officially begun. Hold on to your hats!

From 9th to 29th November 2025, our favourite cosmic chaos agent is back, and this time it’s doing a little dance between Sagittarius and Scorpio. Translation? Big opinions, deep emotions and possibly a few dramatic misunderstandings along the way. But don’t worry; we’ve got your survival plan covered.

So, what actually is happening?

Three times a year, Mercury, the planet of communication, travel and technology, appears to move backwards in the sky. It’s not actually reversing (astronomy says no), but the illusion is enough to throw human affairs into delightful disarray.

Expect the usual suspects: lost emails, travel delays, exes resurfacing out of nowhere yet again, technological difficulties…classic Mercury retrograde behaviour. This November, the mischief starts in adventurous Sagittarius, before sliding back into brooding Scorpio halfway through. Yikes.

Let’s break it down

The first stretch, from 9th-18th November in Sagittarius, is loud, philosophical and slightly chaotic. What else could we expect?! You’ll want to plan holidays, debate life purpose, or book spontaneous flights, before realising you selected the wrong date. Oh, and watch your words: Mercury in Sagittarius loves honesty but has no filter.

Then the vibe turns mysterious from 18th-29th November. Scorpio pulls you inwards. You might start replaying old conversations or spiral into late-night “what did they really mean by that?” overthinking. We’ve all done it, and it looks like we’re doing it again! This is shadow work territory, friends. Perfect for introspection, but say no to impulsive action for now.

Who will feel it most?

Everyone, to an extent, but the stars say:

  • Scorpio and Sagittarius: front row seats to the drama, naturally.
  • Gemini and Virgo: ruled by Mercury, you’ll feel every glitch and typo.
  • Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Aquarius): expect the Universe to test your patience.

If your chart has key placements between 5–15° Sagittarius or Scorpio, put on your big coat; you’re in the cosmic splash zone.

The usual Mercury mayhem

Here’s what to watch out for:

  • Communication chaos: texts taken the wrong way, tone-deaf emails, misunderstandings and confusion.
  • Travel trouble: delays, wrong terminals, missing luggage. Always pack snacks.
  • Tech tantrums: your Wi-Fi will pick the worst possible moment to die. Ditto your phone.
  • Contract confusion: double-check before you sign anything.
  • Blast from the past: old friends, old flames and unfinished business resurface. Not every DM deserves a reply. Let this be your month’s mantra.

You can’t stop Mercury being Mercury, but you can make it work for you. This is the time to triple-check everything, especially travel details and deadlines, and to reflect rather than react. Think of it as review energy as we approach year-end.

Back up your tech (yes, actually do it), and think before you speak, because those Sagittarian blurts will be strong. When Mercury drifts back into Scorpio, journal it out – deep emotions, secrets, all of it. Why not revisit old ideas, too? That project you abandoned earlier this year might finally click into place now. Above all, practise patience. It’s the best retrograde survival tool of all. Things will move forward again… just not until Mercury does.

The cosmic silver lining

Mercury retrograde isn’t here to ruin your life, I promise! November’s retrograde, sitting at the end of the year, is your final check-in before 2026 rolls around.

So yes, your emails might bounce and your train might be late, but maybe, just maybe, that delay is divine timing in disguise.
