Cally Beaton’s Namaste Motherfckers* Returns in Paperback as UK Tour Extends Following Huge Demand

Best-selling author, comedian and broadcaster Cally Beaton is continuing a remarkable second act as her Sunday Times Top 10 bestseller Namaste Motherfckers: A Modern Manifesto For Keeping Cool When You’re A Hot Mess* arrives in paperback on 21 May, alongside an extended UK tour that has added new dates following overwhelming demand.

Already released in hardback, eBook and audiobook via Hachette, the book blends memoir, self-development and comedy, drawing on Beaton’s own unconventional journey from media executive to one of the UK comedy circuit’s most recognisable voices.

The paperback release comes amid a surge in Beaton’s popularity online. Her Instagram reels have now amassed more than 150 million views, helping build a social media audience of over 400,000 followers.

Namaste Motherfckers* explores Beaton’s radical midlife reinvention, inspired in part by a pivotal conversation with the late Joan Rivers. At the time, Beaton was working at Comedy Central and balancing life as a single parent when Rivers encouraged her to pursue stand-up comedy. Beaton first took to the stage at 45 and later made her debut on BBC’s Live at the Apollo at the age of 53.

The book combines personal stories with insights gathered from celebrity guests featured on her hit podcast of the same name, which has now surpassed 200 episodes. Guests have included Miriam Margolyes, Paloma Faith, Grayson Perry, Sally Phillips and Richard Coles.

Beaton says the book aims to challenge the limiting narratives often attached to women in midlife.

“Being a woman in midlife isn’t redemptive – it is full of pain and loss, of sweat and tears, and above all it isn’t one-size-fits-all,” she said. “My book encourages others to be the narrators of their own messy stories.”

The response to the book has been equally enthusiastic from fellow entertainers and broadcasters. Dawn French called it “an absolute book”, while Fearne Cotton described it as “the perfect guide to show you how to live life to the max.”

Away from comedy, Beaton previously held senior roles across some of the world’s biggest media companies, including serving as the youngest and only female member of the ITV board and later becoming Senior Vice President at ViacomCBS, overseeing brands including MTV, Nickelodeon and Paramount.

Her nationwide Namaste Motherfckers* tour has now been extended with dates continuing across the UK throughout 2026. The live show combines stand-up, storytelling and extracts from the book, with meet-and-greets and signings included at selected venues.

Upcoming stops include appearances at the Hay Festival, London’s Wilton’s Music Hall, Bristol’s Tobacco Factory Theatres and venues in Norwich, Tunbridge Wells, Worcester, Hastings and Swanage.
