Tell us about your show. Why should we go and see it?
‘Man Sings The Same Song Over And Over Again For An Hour’ is a show where a Man Sings The Same Song Over And Over Again For An Hour. I got the idea when I thought it would be funny to Sing The Same Song Over And Over Again For An Hour.Â
What is your favourite thing about your show?
I love that there is a man singing the same song over and over again for an hour.
Do you have a Fringe idol?
Anyone that has sung the same song over and over again for an hour.
What three words best describe your performance style – and why?
Wet, loud, and long. You know why.
Who are you looking forward to seeing in Edinburgh?
Seeing audiences hit that moment where they realise that I truly do sing the same song over and over again for an hour.
What do you hope to achieve in Edinburgh – what are your hopes and dreams?
Maybe a handstand?
What are the biggest obstacles you face as a performer at the Fringe?
Accidentally ending up on Cowgate and wondering how to get to the street that is now your roof.
What do you hope the audience will take away after an hour in your company?
Their rubbish and the sticker I give them.
How do you plan to relax and recharge when not on stage?
I get encased in a large wooden box in complete sensory deprivation. I am only to sing the same song over and over again for an hour every day. This is my task. The rest? Darkness and isolation.
What is your idea of a perfect Fringe day?
They don’t seal my wooden box correctly and I’m able to scurry away for an evening. I see shows. I dance. I laugh. I commiserate. I fall in love. We get married. It doesn’t last. I get a potato on a stick. It doesn’t last. I stand on the outskirts of a crowd surrounding a street show. I get wowed by their act. I continue on my walk. It starts raining slightly. Enough to mist my face. I’m cold but wearing a jumper and a jacket and I’m sweating underneath. I step into a pub to get out of the rain. Everyone is singing sea shanties together. I don’t know the words but I join in anyway. We dance. We laugh. We commiserate. We fall in love. We get married. It doesn’t last. I make my way back to the wooden box. I barely sleep. I’m too excited to sing the same song over and over again for an hour. I sing the same song over and over again for an hour. It lasts.
