Ali Brice is the king of crowd work and it’s even more intense when it’s inside a shipping container next to an underpass.
This show has absolutely nothing to do with brushing your teeth, so if you’re there looking for dental advice, you’ll probably be disappointed and should maybe think about going to a real dentist!
Throughout the show Ali can be seen constantly checking his watch, counting down the minutes until the show is over. He is wonderfully deadpan about this and not afraid to appear rude or inpatient to the audience.
At one point during his show, he sets a timer, because Callum, one of the audience members, states that he needs a couple minutes in order to think of a name for his dream dog. So that’s exactly what Ali gives him and sets a timer on his phone for 2 minutes.
I felt honestly frightened when he decided to sort through the crowd, one by one, and try and figure out who the reviewer was, as before the show he had seen the words “press comp” on the ticketing list. Luckily enough he never got around to quizzing me, but it shows just how intense his performances can be.
While most of the show is hyper focused on the front rows, the further back rows are definitely not safe from the splash zone either, as he walks back and forth the small space that isn’t taken up by chairs.
This show has no plan and no structure but that’s why it’s so good, just maybe come prepared with dog names (unlike Callum).
