Gail Porter is a Scottish television personality who started her career in children’s television before branching out into mainstream television and modelling. A specifically memorable moment of her career was when she starred in in the tv series ‘Dead Famous’ alongside Chris Fleming where they took a trip along the west coast of America looking for ghostly presences.
In this show she delves into the specific ‘seances’ and situations she’s been in throughout her career, including a trip to Alcatraz where she found out that she doesn’t get dates on dating apps or with the ghosts of prisoners.
She also brings up the forever relatable topic of school, and how bad it was – especially when she was called into the head teacher’s office in primary school to explain why she had packed a can of beer in her lunchbox.
This performance is jam packed with funny stories, reflecting on just how busy Gail’s life has been this far. However, I don’t feel like this show benefitted from its lack of structure. Not finishing a story in order to go with the flow of the audience happened too frequently, resulting in underdeveloped storylines and anecdotes.
This show is funny, but it definitely needs a little more work before I’d run back to see it again.
However, getting her tongue stuck on an ice sculpture story did make me giggle.
