Writing music since she was nine years old, 23-year old London artist Bella Gate has released her first album – titled ‘Gateway’.
A mix of ballads, folky and up-beat tracks the album is a highly personal account of coming of age and navigating adolescence.
The talented songwriter wrote the tracks on the album between the ages of 14 and 22.
Bella Gate says: “This album is a gateway from my past to my present. It’s about navigating the challenges of adolescence and coming to terms with who I am today. I wanted to create something that was both deeply personal and relatable to others who may have gone through similar struggles.”
‘Gateway’ has a narrative arc from childhood to adulthood, encompassing stories of excess, sobriety, illness, stability and calm. Vulnerable, personal and brutally truthful it creates a picture of young adulthood with remarkable emotional depth.
Recorded at Sol de Sants and RoomTo studios in Barcelona, ‘Gateway’ was brought to life with the remote help of UK-based producer Jordan Round. The album was mastered by the renowned Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road Studios.
Bella Gate launched her debut album at The Troubadour in London in September. She hopes her listeners will join her voyage of self-discovery, healing and growth.
