Colm Warren has released his new single “Without You”, the first in a planned run of releases throughout 2026.
Released on World Down Syndrome Day, the track is accompanied by a video created in collaboration with Down Syndrome Cork. Directed by Tetsuhiko Endo, the video places members of the Down Syndrome Cork community at its centre, focusing on creativity, visibility and inclusion.
The song was written for Warren’s sister Emma McCarthy and inspired by her relationship with her son Ódhrán. Warren said the track was shaped by the impact his nephew has had on their family and what he has taught them about love and compassion.
Musically, “Without You” continues Warren’s move from his punk roots with Belfast band The Twenty toward a richer orchestral sound. The track features an arrangement by John Byrne, performed by the Bulgarian Symphonic Orchestra, and was recorded at The Nutshed Studio.
Following recent singles including “Alright,” “Dead Days,” and “Thinking of You,” “Without You” continues Warren’s focus on emotionally direct songwriting grounded in personal experience.
