Irish singer-songwriter Mick Rochford has released his new single, “Killing Me Today,” from his upcoming debut album, I’ve Got Something to Say.
The track focuses on addiction and alcoholism, highlighting the emotional and physical impact it has on people and their families. Rochford says the song was written to give a voice to those struggling with addiction and to encourage understanding around the issue.
“This song is a compassionate look at what it means to suffer under addiction. I wrote it to give voice to anyone struggling to understand their situation and how it can eventually lead to their death,” he said.
Rochford previously performed as a drummer with bands across Ireland and supported Aslan at venues nationwide before launching his solo career. He now has more than 50,000 monthly Spotify listeners and a playlist reach of over 4 million.
Outside music, Rochford is CEO of Ireland’s national children’s cancer charity, CEO of Jax Bathroom Suppliers, and a kickboxing coach.
